Sharing a moment with a man who lost everything. His home was destroyed in the earthquake, his family killed, no money to rebuild. He asked for nothing but knew when he heard the sound of helicopters in the air that there might be a chance he would receive. Patiently we sat inside the recently constructed shack outside the destroyed monastery, sharing this moment, a moment that would change both of our lives forever. This man as well as everyone else in his village received enough supplies that build a temporary home to get them through the monsoon and into the new year where they could properly rebuild their homes.
